Marina One
Marina One
Project Overview
Marina One in Singapore represents the largest project undertaken by Christoph Ingenhoven to date.
Officially inaugurated on January 15, 2018, Marina One serves as an international exemplar for integrated
living and working spaces. It contributes innovatively to the dialogue on mega-cities, particularly in tropical
regions that face significant challenges due to growing populations and climate change.
The high-density complex spans over 400,000 square meters and features a mix of uses within its four
high-rise buildings. These structures surround the “Green Heart”, a multi-level public space that showcases
a three-dimensional green oasis reflecting the diversity of tropical flora.
Urban Significance
Today, more than 50% of the world’s population lives in cities, and this number is projected to rise to 70%
within the next three decades. By 2050, the global population is expected to reach nine to ten billion.
Marina One addresses these challenges by providing a sustainable high-density development model,
demonstrating that green, livable, and integrated spaces can thrive even in densely populated urban settings.
